Charms Blow Pop

Charms is a legendary American candy brand founded in 1912 by Walter W. Reid Jr. in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Originally known as Tropical Charms, the company gained fame for its square-shaped fruit candies, which were among the first to be individually wrapped in cellophane. During World War II, Charms became a staple of American culture as they were included in military combat rations (MREs) to provide soldiers with a quick energy boost.

In the early 1970s, the company revolutionized the confectionery market with the invention of the Blow Pop—the first lollipop featuring a bubble gum center. This innovation became the brand's most successful product of all time. Since 1988, the brand has been a key subsidiary of Tootsie Roll Industries. Today, the majority of Charms products, including the iconic Blow Pops, are manufactured in Covington, Tennessee, where the company maintains a massive manufacturing and distribution hub that continues to expand to meet global demand.
