Bollé eyewear

Bollé is a historic French brand with roots dating back to 1888, when it was founded by Séraphin Bollé in Oyonnax, France. Originally specializing in hair ornaments made from horn, the company pivoted to eyewear in the mid-20th century. It became a pioneer in industrial processes, notably being one of the first to use molded nylon in the production of sunglasses and protective gear. By the 1960s, the brand solidified its reputation in the sports world by launching specialized ski goggles and cycling eyewear.

Over the decades, ownership of the brand has transitioned from the founding family to several major corporations, including Bushnell Performance Optics and Vista Outdoor. Since 2018, Bollé has been owned by A&M Capital Europe, a private equity firm that established the Bollé Brands group to manage its portfolio of premium eyewear and head protection brands. While the brand maintains its creative and technological headquarters in France (specifically Lyon), its manufacturing is distributed globally. High-performance lines and specialized technical products have historically been produced in France and Italy, while broader consumer lines are manufactured in other regions, including China.
