UHU is an iconic German brand of adhesive that became a global household name after the pharmacist August Fischer developed the first ready-to-use clear liquid glue in 1932. The name 'UHU' follows a tradition of naming products after birds, inspired by the Eagle Owl (Uhu in German).
While originally a family-owned German company (UHU GmbH & Co. KG), the brand was acquired by the Bolton Group in 1994. Today, UHU is managed as part of this international group's adhesive division. Most of its primary production, especially for the core liquid glue products, remains in Germany at its historical site in Bühl, ensuring the high-quality standards associated with the 'Made in Germany' label.
