Metode is a private label brand developed specifically for the Norwegian pharmacy chain Apotek 1. The product shown is a hand disinfectant containing 85% alcohol, intended for both clinical and personal hygiene. These products are developed in Norway to meet local pharmaceutical standards.

Apotek 1 is the leading pharmacy chain in Norway and is owned by the Apotek 1 Gruppen AS. Since 2004, this group has been part of the international Phoenix Group, a German-based pharmaceutical wholesaler and retailer. Therefore, while the brand 'Metode' is a Norwegian creation for the domestic market, its ultimate ownership resides with the Phoenix Group in Germany.
