Penaten baby care products

Penaten is an iconic German brand of baby and skin care products, most famous for its 'Penaten Cream' in the distinctive blue tin. The brand was founded in 1904 by the German chemist Max Riese in Rhöndorf, Germany. For decades, the original medicated cream was manufactured in its home city until the facility was eventually closed in the early 2000s. Today, production is decentralized across several European locations, including Italy and France, to serve its global market.

In terms of ownership, Penaten underwent a major transition in 1986 when it was acquired by the American multinational Johnson & Johnson. More recently, as part of Johnson & Johnson's corporate restructuring to separate its consumer health business, Penaten became part of Kenvue. Kenvue is now the independent, ultimate owner of the brand, continuing the legacy of Max Riese's original formula while expanding the product line to include lotions, oils, and specialized skin treatments for both infants and adults.
