Founded in 1928 by Narciso Delladio in the Val di Fiemme, the company remains a family-owned business, currently led by the third and fourth generations of the Delladio family. The brand is deeply rooted in the Italian Dolomites, where its global headquarters and primary state-of-the-art factory are located in Ziano di Fiemme.

While approximately 60% of its production—including high-end climbing shoes and technical mountaineering boots—is still handcrafted in its Italian facility, the company has expanded its manufacturing footprint to meet global demand. This includes production in Eastern Europe (notably through its majority stake in Meet Italia) and Asia for specific technical apparel and entry-level footwear models. Despite this expansion, La Sportiva maintains a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and local craftsmanship, keeping its core high-performance production within the mountain communities where the brand originated.
