Braun grooming and household appliances

Braun is a globally recognized German premium brand known for its commitment to functional design and technical innovation. Founded in 1921, the company initially focused on radio components and evolved into a leader in industrial design under the guidance of Dieter Rams. Today, the brand represents a unique dual-ownership structure resulting from strategic acquisitions that have allowed it to dominate across different market segments.

The manufacturing of Braun products is a global operation. High-end personal care items, such as the Series 9 shavers, are still largely manufactured in Germany to maintain rigorous quality standards. However, other consumer electronics and small kitchen appliances are produced in specialized facilities in China, Hungary, and Ireland, depending on the product category and technical requirements. This distribution allows Braun to balance artisanal German engineering with global production efficiencies.

From an ownership perspective, Braun is split between two major multinational corporations. Since 2005, the personal care division (shavers, oral care, and epilators) has been owned by Procter & Gamble (P&G). In 2012, the kitchen and small household appliance division was licensed and managed by the De'Longhi Group. This arrangement ensures that the Braun legacy continues to thrive in both the beauty/grooming sector and the home culinary market under the stewardship of industry leaders.
