The company was established in 1926, focusing on bottling mineral water in glass containers. In 1994, renowned designer Giorgetto Giugiaro, also from Garessio, designed the iconic 'Gocce' bottle for S. Bernardo, enhancing its association with Italian design. In 2015, ownership of S. Bernardo transitioned from the multinational Sanpellegrino-Nestlé to the Italian Gruppo Montecristo, a family-run company founded by the Biella and Colombo families. This acquisition marked a significant shift, making S. Bernardo a key player in Gruppo Montecristo's portfolio.
