Kellogg's Special K Fibre cereal

Special K is a globally recognized brand of breakfast cereal originally developed by the Kellogg Company. First introduced in the United States in 1955, it was marketed as a high-protein, low-fat cereal aimed at health-conscious consumers and became famous for the 'Special K Challenge' weight management program.

The product is manufactured in several locations worldwide to serve different regional markets. For the European market, where the packaging in the image (featuring Italian and French text) originates, production often occurs in major facilities such as the one in Trafford Park, United Kingdom, which is the company's largest factory. Other production sites exist in Spain and other European hubs to satisfy local demand.

In recent years, the brand's ownership structure has undergone significant changes. In late 2023, the original Kellogg Company split into two entities: WK Kellogg Co (handling the North American cereal business) and Kellanova (overseeing snacks and international cereal). By 2025, these entities were acquired by major industry players. The Italian confectionery giant Ferrero Group acquired WK Kellogg Co, while Mars, Inc. moved to acquire Kellanova, consolidating the brand under new global leadership as of 2026.
