Grattamacco Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2021

Grattamacco Bolgheri Superiore is a prestigious red wine produced by Podere Grattamacco, an estate located in the Bolgheri region of Tuscany, Italy. Founded in 1977 by Piermario Meletti Cavallari, Grattamacco was a pioneer in the region, becoming the second winery to establish itself in Bolgheri after the world-famous Sassicaia. It is particularly noted for being the first in the area to include Sangiovese in its Bolgheri Rosso blends, alongside classic Bordeaux varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Since 2002, the estate has been owned by the ColleMassari Group, founded by siblings Claudio Tipa and Maria Iris Bertarelli. Under their leadership, the winery has maintained its reputation for high-quality, organic viticulture. The manufacturing and bottling occur entirely on the estate in Castagneto Carducci, Tuscany, ensuring that the wine reflects the unique terroir of the coastal hills. Today, the brand remains a flagship of the ColleMassari portfolio, which also includes other legendary Tuscan properties such as Poggio di Sotto.
