The brand is owned and managed by the Schwarz Group, a German multinational retail giant that also operates the Kaufland chain. While the brand originated in Germany to serve as a high-quality, value-driven house label for Lidl, the manufacturing process is increasingly vertically integrated. Much of the coffee is processed at the Schwarz Produktion's state-of-the-art roasting facilities in Rheine, Germany, though sourcing and some production stages may occur in multiple countries to support Lidl’s vast international supply chain.
