After Eight Orange Dark Chocolate is a flavored edition of the classic British mint chocolate thins. The brand After Eight was originally introduced in 1962 in the United Kingdom by Rowntree & Company Limited as an upscale after-dinner confectionery.

In 1988, Swiss multinational food and beverage giant Nestlé S.A. acquired Rowntree, bringing the After Eight brand into its extensive global portfolio. Today, Nestlé manages the global production and distribution of After Eight products.

While originally produced in Halifax in the United Kingdom, production of After Eight wafers for the European market, including Sweden, is primarily based at Nestlé's dedicated confectionery manufacturing plant in Hamburg, Germany.
