EDEKA Kochbeutel Reis

This product is a private-label parboiled or boil-in-the-bag rice package from EDEKA, Germany's largest supermarket group. The packaging features a recipe for "Bunter Reistopf" with instructions referencing cooking bags of rice and points consumers to www.edeka.de/rezepte.

EDEKA originated as a cooperative in Berlin in 1898 under the name 'E. d. K.' (Einkaufsgenossenschaft der Kolonialwarenhändler im Halleschen Torbezirk zu Berlin). Today, the brand is owned by the EDEKA group (EDEKA ZENTRALE Stiftung & Co. KG), headquartered in Hamburg, Germany. The rice itself is sourced and packed by European contract manufacturers and agricultural suppliers, with the exact origin varying depending on global grain sourcing.
