La Sierra Refried Beans

La Sierra is a heritage Mexican food brand widely known for its authentic prepared and refried beans sold in cans and pouches throughout Mexico and the United States.

The brand was originally developed in Mexico and grew into one of the country's household staples for ready-to-eat authentic pinto and black refried beans. Today, La Sierra is owned by Grupo Herdez, S.A.B. de C.V., one of Mexico's oldest and leading food conglomerates. In the United States, its distribution and marketing are handled primarily via MegaMex Foods, a 50/50 joint venture between Grupo Herdez and Hormel Foods Corporation.

Production of La Sierra beans primarily takes place in Mexico across Grupo Herdez's canning and processing facilities, from where they are exported to retail shelves across the United States. Note that while other regional companies or dairies may use similar names such as 'Sierra' or 'La Sierra', this well-known bean line is owned by Grupo Herdez.
