Known for its distinct artistic direction, loose-fitting denim (such as the Big Boy jeans), and skate decks featuring original artwork, the label has become a staple of global skateboarding and street culture.

While the brand was conceived and is headquartered in Malmö, Sweden, its manufacturing spans multiple countries. A notable portion of Polar Skate Co.'s garments and European denim collections are produced in Portugal and Poland, while decks and various accessories are crafted in specialized facilities internationally, including China and Mexico.

Polar Skate Co. remains an independently owned entity operating under Pontus Alv's corporate structures (such as Polar Skate Co AB). It should not be confused with other well-known brands using the 'Polar' moniker, such as the Finnish sports tech and heart-rate monitoring company Polar Electro, or Polar Beverages in North America.
