STADA Arzneimittel AG is a prominent German pharmaceutical manufacturer that traces its roots back to 1895, when it was founded in Dresden, Germany, by a cooperative of pharmacists under the name 'Standardpräparate Deutscher Apotheker' (STADA). Over more than a century, the company has grown into a leading global provider of high-quality generic prescription medications, specialty pharmaceuticals, and non-prescription consumer healthcare products.

STADA operates an extensive international production and supply network. While key manufacturing sites and packaging centers are situated across Germany and other European countries, active ingredients and finished goods are produced across multiple licensed global manufacturing facilities.

Historically traded publicly on the German stock exchange, STADA was acquired in 2017 in a joint private equity buyout by Bain Capital (headquartered in the United States) and Cinven (headquartered in the United Kingdom) through Nidda Healthcare. In Denmark and the wider Nordic region, the company's medicines and OTC portfolio are marketed and distributed through its regional subsidiary, PharmaSuisse Laboratories ApS / STADA Nordic ApS.
