Homann Delikatessen Food Products

Homann (often searched or misremembered as Hohmann) is a historic German food manufacturer famous for chilled delicatessen products, including potato salads, meat salads (Fleischsalat), dressings, mayonnaise, and tartar sauces.

Founded in 1876 by Fritz Homann in Dissen am Teutoburger Wald, Germany, the company initially started as a meat and sausage processing business before expanding into margarine and later becoming a market leader in ready-made delicatessen salads and condiments.

Over the decades, Homann underwent multiple ownership changes, notably becoming part of the Müller Group (Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller) in 2011. In 2021/2022, the Müller Group sold the Homann brand and its main delicatessen salad operations to the Dutch food conglomerate Signature Foods B.V. (backed by investment firm Pamplona Capital Management). Today, Homann products sold in German supermarkets remain closely tied to German culinary heritage and are primarily produced in Germany and neighboring European processing facilities.
