Danish Passport (Danmark Pas)

A Danish passport is an official identification document issued to citizens of the Kingdom of Denmark to facilitate international travel. The document serves as proof of Danish citizenship and is issued by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Danish National Police. As a member of the European Union, Denmark issues passports that follow a standardized burgundy design with the words 'DEN EUROPÆISKE UNION' and 'DANMARK' along with the Danish Coat of Arms.

Modern Danish passports are biometric, containing a microchip with digital information about the holder, including fingerprints and facial images, to enhance security and prevent forgery. The production of these high-security documents is handled through government-contracted specialists, currently managed by the French digital security company IDEMIA in collaboration with the Danish authorities to ensure the highest standards of travel document integrity.
