Hoka One One footwear

Hoka (originally Hoka One One) was founded in 2009 in Annecy, France, by Nicolas Mermoud and Jean-Luc Diard. The brand was initially conceived to provide maximalist cushioning for runners, specifically designed to facilitate easier downhill running with an oversized midsole. The brand's unique aesthetics and focus on comfort quickly gained popularity among ultramarathon runners and eventually entered the mainstream athletic market.

In 2013, the brand was acquired by the American corporation Deckers Outdoor Corporation. Today, the brand is headquartered in Goleta, California. While the brand originated in the French Alps, its manufacturing is now globalized, with production primarily located in Vietnam, China, and Cambodia to meet international demand.

Under Deckers' ownership, Hoka has expanded beyond professional running into lifestyle, hiking, and everyday apparel. The brand remains a key player in the performance footwear industry, maintaining its reputation for innovative geometry and lightweight cushioning technologies.
