BaByliss is a globally recognized brand in the hair care sector, originally founded in 1961 in Paris, France. The brand was established by hair stylists René Lelièvre and Jean-Pierre Felblum, who developed the first ever electric curling iron. Since its inception, the brand has been synonymous with professional-quality hair styling equipment, catering to both salon professionals and home users.

In 1995, BaByliss was acquired by the American multicatgory corporation Conair, which facilitated its expansion into a global powerhouse. Today, while the brand's creative and design heritage remains rooted in Europe, the manufacturing operations are largely concentrated in China to leverage large-scale production efficiencies.

The brand is currently owned by Conair LLC, which is headquartered in the United States. Following acquisition activities in 2023 and moving into the 2026-era, the company continues to focus on innovation in electronic personal care, maintaining separate professional (BaByliss Pro) and retail divisions to serve diverse market segments worldwide.
