Bertie Beetle is a small, honeycomb-flavored chocolate bar with a rich history in Australian and New Zealand culture. Originally created in 1963 by Hoadley's Chocolates in Australia, it was designed as a creative way to use up the honeycomb shards left over from the production of the Violet Crumble bar. The product's anthropomorphized beetle shape and affordable price point made it a staple of agricultural showbags across Australia for decades.

Today, the brand is owned by the Swiss multinational Nestlé, which acquired the brand through its purchase of Rowntree Mackintosh in 1988. While it began its life in Australia, modern production has shifted entirely to New Zealand. The brand is managed for the showbag market by Chicane Marketing, which acts as a distributor for Nestlé. Despite being less common in mainstream supermarkets, Bertie Beetle remains a cult classic and a nostalgic favorite in the Oceania region.
