Van Rysel is a high-performance cycling brand that originated in Lille, France. The name itself is a tribute to its roots, as "Van Rysel" means "From Lille" in Flemish (Rysel being the Flemish name for the city). Launched in 2019, the brand was created by the French sporting goods giant Decathlon to serve as its premium, race-focused label, moving beyond the more entry-level positioning of its predecessor, B'Twin.

While the brand's identity and engineering are deeply rooted in northern France—specifically at the B'Twin Village in Lille—it utilizes a global manufacturing network. The precision design and research and development (often in collaboration with aerospace labs like ONERA) happen in France, but like many top-tier cycling brands, the actual frame production typically takes place in specialized carbon fiber facilities in Asia. Final assembly and rigorous quality testing occur across Decathlon's international supply chain to ensure professional-grade performance.

Ownership of Van Rysel remains entirely with Decathlon SE, a privately held French company owned primarily by the Mulliez family. This vertical integration allows the brand to offer professional WorldTour-level equipment, such as that used by the Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team, at a more competitive price point than many independent luxury cycling brands.
