Schweppes Carbonated Beverage

Schweppes is one of the world's oldest and most iconic beverage brands, founded by Johann Jacob Schweppe in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1783 after he developed a process to manufacture carbonated mineral water. The brand later moved its headquarters to London, where it became the official purveyor of soda water to the British Royal Family.

Today, the ownership structure of Schweppes is fragmented across different global markets. In Western Europe, the brand is largely owned and distributed by Orangina Schweppes (Suntory). In Australia and several other territories, it is owned by Asahi Group Holdings. In North America (USA and Canada), the brand is owned and manufactured by Keurig Dr Pepper. This complex distribution network ensures that while the brand has a singular historical identity, its modern manufacturing is carried out in dozens of countries by various multinational conglomerates.
