Lamy is a renowned German brand specialized in high-quality writing instruments. Its most iconic product, the Lamy Safari, was designed by Wolfgang Fabian and Bernt Spiegel of the Entwicklungsgruppe Mannheim and launched at the Frankfurt Fair in 1980.

The Safari model is famous for its functional design, including a sturdy recessed grip and a visible ink window. While Lamy was a family-owned business for decades, it was recently acquired in 2024 by the Japanese group Mitsubishi Pencil Company to ensure its long-term growth and global expansion. Despite the change in ownership, production remains centralized in Heidelberg, Germany, maintaining its "Made in Germany" heritage.
