After the German reunification, the brand was acquired by Thüringer Waldquell, which successfully revitalized it, making it one of the few regional brands to hold a significant market share against global giants like Coca-Cola in Eastern Germany.

Today, the brand is owned by the Hassia Group (HassiaGruppe), a traditional German family-owned company based in Bad Vilbel. The production remains centered in Thuringia, Germany, maintaining its regional heritage while being distributed across the country. The Hassia Group is one of Germany's largest mineral water and non-alcoholic beverage producers, ensuring that Vita Cola continues to be a staple in the German beverage market.
