Philadelphia is a well-known brand of cream cheese originally created in the United States in 1872 by William Lawrence. Today, the brand is globally recognized and sold in numerous countries, including Denmark where it is widely available in supermarkets like Lidl. The brand and its international operations are owned by Mondelēz International, a massive American multinational confectionery, food, holding and beverage conglomerate headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. In Europe, Philadelphia is often produced and distributed in partnership with or under license by Milka/Mondelez dairy networks across multiple countries.
