The ROSHEN brand was established in 1996 in Ukraine by businessman and former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. The brand name itself is derived from the central letters of his surname (Po-ROSHEN-ko). Over decades, it has grown into one of the largest confectionery manufacturers in Eastern and Central Europe.

Today, the brand remains under the ultimate ownership of ROSHEN Confectionery Corporation, headquartered in Kyiv, Ukraine. ROSHEN operates multiple manufacturing facilities across Ukraine as well as factories abroad, including in Lithuania and Hungary. In Romania, products are widely available and imported through regional distributors, including Roshen One Ltd / Roshen Romania.
