John West Sardines

John West is a historic brand of canned seafood, originally founded in 1857 by Scottish-born John West in Oregon, USA, producing canned salmon, before the brand operations were established and popularized in the United Kingdom.

Today, the John West brand across the United Kingdom, Europe, and related export markets is owned by Thai Union Group, a major global seafood producer based in Thailand that acquired the brand in 2010.

The sardines are produced in Europe, as evidenced by the veterinary inspection oval marks indicating processing plants either in Portugal (PT C.241.1P CE) or Poland (PL 22151811 WE). The product is imported and distributed in Israel with local Hebrew labeling.
