Zenith was founded in 1865 by Georges Favre-Jacot in Le Locle, Switzerland, establishing one of the earliest integrated watch manufactures. The manufacture gained legendary status in 1969 with the release of the El Primero caliber, one of the world's very first high-frequency automatic chronograph movements.
