Celestial Seasonings was founded in 1969 in Boulder, Colorado, by Mo Siegel and friends, who started by foraging wild herbs from the Rocky Mountains to blend unique teas.

Today, Celestial Seasonings teas are blended and packaged primarily at their central manufacturing facility in Boulder, Colorado, USA, using herbs, spices, and botanicals sourced from around the globe.

In 2000, Celestial Seasonings merged with the natural food enterprise Hain Food Group to form The Hain Celestial Group, Inc., an American food and personal care company based in Hoboken, New Jersey. In Europe and the Netherlands, Celestial Seasonings products are distributed via Hain Celestial's European divisions.
