The brand was originally established in 2002 in Taiwan as a spinoff from Asus, initially created to compete in the commodity and OEM PC motherboard market before evolving into an independent, high-performance enthusiast and gaming hardware vendor.

Today, ASRock operates under the umbrella of the Pegatron Corporation, a major Taiwanese electronics manufacturing multinational that was formed during the corporate restructuring of Asus in 2008. While Pegatron holds primary corporate ownership, ASRock operates as an independently traded entity on the Taiwan Stock Exchange with its own global distribution network, supplying high-performance PC components to retailers and consumers across the United Kingdom and worldwide.

ASRock products are primarily manufactured in advanced electronics production facilities situated in mainland China, Vietnam, and Taiwan. These facilities produce complex printed circuit boards (PCBs) and assembled hardware meeting international computing standards for both consumer and commercial markets.
