Ceremonial grade Asian matcha available in France is most prominently represented by specialized French direct-to-consumer and organic specialty brands, notably Anatae. Originating in France, Anatae was founded by Camille Pic to source authentic, single-origin organic matcha directly from family-run farms in Japan.

While the commercial brand and distribution are rooted in France, genuine ceremonial grade matcha is cultivated, steamed, dried (as tencha), and stone-ground into ultra-fine powder in Japan, predominantly within renowned tea regions such as Uji (Kyoto Prefecture) or Kagoshima.

Anatae remains an independently owned French business specializing in premium Japanese green teas and tea accessories, serving the French and European wellness and culinary markets.
