Landliebe is one of Germany's most recognized traditional dairy brands, initially introduced in the 1970s by the Südmilch AG dairy cooperative based in Stuttgart-Heilbronn. Known for its rural imagery, glass bottles, and focus on non-GMO and regional dairy farming, Landliebe grew to become a household name across Germany.
Over the decades, ownership of the brand shifted through several major corporate transactions. Südmilch merged into Campina, which later became the Dutch dairy multinational Royal FrieslandCampina. In 2023, FrieslandCampina sold a substantial portion of its German consumer dairy business, including the Landliebe brand and production facilities, to the German dairy cooperative Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller (Müller Group), bringing the brand under German ownership once again.
