Dickies, originally known as the Williamson-Dickie Manufacturing Company, was founded in 1922 in Bryan, Texas, by C. N. Williamson and E. E. 'Colonel' Dickie. Initially established as an overall and workwear manufacturer, the brand earned a worldwide reputation for producing rugged, durable clothing for workers. Over the decades, Dickies evolved beyond functional utility wear and established itself as an iconic streetwear and lifestyle staple across the globe, including across Austria and greater Europe.

In 2017, Dickies was acquired by VF Corporation, an American global apparel and footwear powerhouse that also owns brands such as Vans, The North Face, Timberland, and Supreme. Today, the design, distribution, and international marketing of Dickies apparel are managed under VF Corporation's global corporate umbrella.

Dickies jeans and apparel are manufactured through an extensive international supply network. Production is distributed across multiple manufacturing partner countries, including Bangladesh, Mexico, Pakistan, China, Vietnam, and Cambodia, adhering to global manufacturing and labor standards established by its parent corporation.
