Bundaberg Sugar is one of Australia's most recognized agribusiness brands, with deep roots in Queensland's rich sugar-producing history dating back to 1882. Originally founded by the Gibson family with the establishment of the Bingera mill, the brand became central to cane sugar processing in the Bundaberg region.

Ownership Structure

While Bundaberg Sugar operates locally, it is a wholly owned subsidiary of Finasucre, a Belgian family-owned multinational agribusiness group headquartered in Brussels. Finasucre acquired the company in 2000 from British sugar conglomerate Tate & Lyle.

Note on Namesakes: Bundaberg Sugar is a distinct corporate entity and should not be confused with Bundaberg Brewed Drinks (an independent family-owned beverage producer famous for ginger beer) or Bundaberg Rum (owned by multinational spirits company Diageo).
