The Explorer range consists of touring and cross-country mountain bikes designed for durability and varied off-road terrains.

The brand originated in France within Decathlon, headquartered in Villeneuve-d'Ascq, near Lille. The Mountain Bike Village in Passy, in the Haute-Savoie region of France, serves as the engineering and testing hub for Rockrider, where prototypes are put to the test against the backdrop of Mont Blanc.

Rockrider bicycles and gear are manufactured across multiple global production facilities depending on the market and specific model, with key assembly centers located in Portugal, Romania, France, and China. In Poland, Rockrider bikes are sold and serviced directly via Decathlon Sp. z o.o., the Polish subsidiary of the French retail conglomerate Decathlon SE (ultimately controlled by the Mulliez family association, Association Familiale Mulliez).
