PADERNO was originally founded in 1925 in Paderno Dugnano, near Milan, Italy, beginning as a manufacturer of premium aluminum cookware for professional kitchens. Over the decades, it expanded globally, establishing a strong reputation for high-quality culinary tools and cookware. A Canadian subsidiary was established in Prince Edward Island in 1979.

In 2017, Canadian Tire Corporation acquired the PADERNO brand and its associated Canadian intellectual property and operations. Under Canadian Tire's stewardship, the brand was diversified to include contemporary consumer lines, such as the vibrant 'vida by PADERNO' collection focusing on kitchen electrics and cookware. Like the majority of consumer small electrical kitchen appliances, vida by PADERNO air fryers are manufactured in China.
