Panda Antivirus

Panda Antivirus (now commonly branded under Panda Dome by Panda Security) is a well-established cybersecurity solution offering antivirus, malware protection, and internet security services. The software was originally created in Bilbao, Spain, by Mikel Urizarbarrena in 1990 under the company name Panda Software (later renamed Panda Security).

In 2020, Panda Security was acquired by WatchGuard Technologies, an American network security and intelligence company headquartered in Seattle, Washington. WatchGuard integrated Panda's advanced endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions into its global cybersecurity portfolio while continuing to market Panda Dome to retail and home users worldwide, including Norway.

While the Panda name is well-known in the consumer goods sector—notably Panda Licorice from Finland—Panda Antivirus has no corporate connection to the Finnish confectionery brand.
