Eggo Frozen Waffles

Eggo is one of the most iconic frozen breakfast brands in the United States, famous for its line of toaster waffles, pancakes, and French toast sticks, accompanied by the classic advertising tagline 'L'eggo my Eggo.'

The brand originated in San Jose, California, in the 1930s when brothers Frank, Anthony, and Sam Dorsa developed mayonnaise and waffle batter products. In 1953, they introduced frozen waffles under the name 'Froffles' (a portmanteau of 'frozen' and 'waffles'), but consumers quickly began calling them 'Eggos' due to their distinctive egg flavor. In 1955, the name officially changed to Eggo.

In 1968, the Kellogg Company acquired Eggo, scaling its production and making it a staple in household freezers across North America. Following Kellogg's corporate restructuring in late 2023, the global snacking and frozen foods businesses became Kellanova. In August 2024, Mars, Incorporated agreed to acquire Kellanova, with the transaction completing around 2025–2026. Eggo products sold in the United States are primarily manufactured at specialized baking facilities across the country, including major plants in Georgia, Tennessee, and California.
