Brand Origin and History

Uiltje Brewing Company (originally Het Uiltje) was founded in 2012 by Robbert Uyleman in Haarlem, the Netherlands. Known for its hop-forward craft beers and distinct, comic-book-style label illustrations, Uiltje rapidly grew from a small contract-brewing project into one of the most prominent modern craft breweries in the Netherlands.

In April 2021, Royal Swinkels Family Brewers (formerly Bavaria N.V.) acquired Uiltje Brewing Company to strengthen its craft beer portfolio alongside other brands such as Brouwerij de Molen, Rodenbach, and La Trappe. Royal Swinkels Family Brewers is a prominent independent family-owned brewing company based in Lieshout, Netherlands.
