BBB Cycling, originally known as BBB Parts, was founded in 1998 in Leiden, Netherlands, by two former professional cyclists, Chris Koppert and Frank Moons. Drawing from their competitive racing experience, they aimed to create high-quality, practical cycling gear that met the demands of both amateur and professional riders. Over the decades, the brand expanded from a small range of glasses and pumps into a comprehensive catalog of over 1,500 specialized cycling products.
While the brand maintains its design and engineering headquarters in the Netherlands to ensure European quality standards, manufacturing is outsourced globally. The majority of production takes place in Taiwan and China, which are the primary hubs for precision bicycle component manufacturing. This allows BBB to offer a wide variety of parts ranging from carbon handlebars to intricate mechanical tools while maintaining competitive pricing.
In 2015, BBB Cycling was acquired by Pon Holdings, a massive Dutch conglomerate that has become one of the world's leading players in the bicycle industry. As of 2026, BBB operates as a key component and accessory brand within the Pon.Bike division. This ownership places BBB in the same corporate family as iconic bicycle brands like Santa Cruz, Cervélo, Cannondale, and Gazelle, providing the brand with significant logistical and research resources to remain at the forefront of cycling innovation.
