Yeezy was established as a high-end fashion collaboration between the American rapper and designer Kanye West and the German sportswear giant Adidas. Initially starting with Nike, the brand moved to Adidas in 2013, launching its first official collection in 2015. The line quickly became a cultural phenomenon, recognized for its minimalist aesthetic and innovative materials like Boost and Primeknit technology.
Following the termination of the partnership between Adidas and Kanye West in late 2022, the brand's operational status shifted. While Kanye West remains the sole owner of the Yeezy trademark through his company Mascotte Holdings Inc., the existing designs and stock produced during the partnership remained under the control of Adidas for liquidation. Manufacturing has historically taken place in multiple countries, including China, Vietnam, and Italy, to meet global demand for the high-demand sneakers and garments.
