Zlatý Bažant is a premier Slovak beer brand that gained significant visibility through sponsorships, as seen in this 1994 event. The brand's history is deeply rooted in the town of Hurbanovo, where it was first produced in the late 1960s. Its distinctive name, which translates to 'Golden Pheasant', and high quality quickly established it as a leading export product during the Czechoslovak era.
Following the privatization era in the 1990s, the brand and its brewery were acquired by the Dutch brewing giant Heineken N.V. in 1995. Under Heineken's ownership, the Hurbanovo brewery underwent extensive modernization, becoming one of the most technologically advanced facilities in Central Europe. Today, Zlatý Bažant remains the flagship of Slovak brewing, representing a blend of traditional Slovak craftsmanship and international corporate management.
