Planted.steak is a plant-based meat alternative produced by Planted Foods AG. The brand was founded in 2019 in Zurich, Switzerland, by a group of researchers from ETH Zurich who aimed to create meat-like textures using only natural ingredients and no additives through a process called extrusion.

The product is primarily manufactured in the company's dedicated production facility in Kemptthal, Switzerland. As of 2024, the brand remains independently owned by its original founders and private investors, maintaining its headquarters and core production within Switzerland while expanding its presence across European markets including the Netherlands, France, and Germany.
