Equal Classic Sweetener Stick

Equal is a globally recognized brand of artificial sweeteners, primarily known for its aspartame-based formulations. The brand was originally developed in the United States by G.D. Searle & Co. in the late 1970s and launched as a consumer product in 1982. It gained fame as one of the first low-calorie sugar substitutes to achieve mass-market success, offering a sweet taste without the caloric content of sugar.

Over the decades, ownership of the brand has changed hands. After being a part of Monsanto (following their acquisition of G.D. Searle), the sweetener business was sold to Merisant in 2000. Today, Equal is a flagship brand of the Whole Earth Brands family. The manufacturing of Equal products occurs in various facilities worldwide, including the United States, Thailand, and other regions, to support its global distribution network across retail and food service sectors.
