Historically an Italian family business, Balconi S.p.A. was acquired by the Irish food group Valeo Foods in 2015. Valeo Foods itself has undergone ownership changes, notably being acquired by the global investment firm Bain Capital in 2021. Despite the change in international corporate ownership, Balconi maintains its production heritage in Italy, specifically at its facility in Nerviano, near Milan, ensuring the 'Made in Italy' quality associated with the brand.
