Sealord Fish Products

Sealord is a leading seafood brand that originated in New Zealand, known for its deep-sea fishing and processing operations. Established in 1961, it has grown into one of the largest seafood providers in the Southern Hemisphere. The brand is famous for its sustainable fishing practices and its iconic blue packaging, offering a range of products from frozen fillets to canned tuna.

The manufacturing and sourcing primarily take place in the pristine waters of New Zealand, specifically through its significant fishing fleet. However, depending on the specific product line, such as tuna or value-added seafood, processing may occur in various international facilities to meet global distribution needs.

Ownership of Sealord is currently a joint venture. It is 50% owned by Maori interests through Moana New Zealand (Aotearoa Fisheries Limited) and 50% by the Japanese seafood giant Nissui Corporation. This partnership blends traditional New Zealand heritage with Japanese global logistics and technical expertise, ensuring the brand remains a powerhouse in the international seafood market.
