Inov-8 is a specialized brand known for its high-performance trail running shoes, fitness gear, and hiking equipment. Founded in 2003 by Wayne Edy in the Northern Pennines of England, the brand gained a reputation for creating minimalist, lightweight footwear with superior grip designed to tackle the rugged terrain of the British fells. One of their most significant technological milestones is the integration of Graphene-enhanced rubber soles, which provides exceptional durability and traction.

Over the years, the brand's ownership has shifted through various global entities before returning to its roots. In 2015, the Japanese sportswear giant Descente acquired an 80% stake in the company. However, in 2023, the brand was bought back by its original founder, Wayne Edy, marking a return to independent British ownership. This move was intended to refocus the brand on its core mission of innovation and performance within the outdoor and CrossFit communities.

Today, Inov-8 continues to design and develop its products in the United Kingdom. Manufacturing takes place across multiple countries, primarily in Asia (such as China and Vietnam), to leverage specialized sports footwear production facilities while maintaining the high technical standards required for elite athletic competition.
