Telefunken is a brand with deep historical roots in Germany, originally founded in 1903 as a joint venture between Siemens & Halske and AEG. Over the decades, it became a pioneer in radio, television, and wireless technology. However, the original company was dissolved in 2005.

Today, the Telefunken brand is managed by Telefunken Licenses GmbH, which grants licenses to various manufacturers to produce household appliances and electronics under the name. In the European market, many Telefunken large appliances, such as gas hobs, are manufactured by Turkish industrial giants like Vestel or other regional partners through licensing agreements. This allows the brand to maintain a presence in the kitchenware market despite no longer operating as a single integrated German manufacturing entity.
