The brewery is notable for being one of the oldest independent family-owned breweries in France, with a history dating back to 1640. The current Meteor IPA is designed to be a fruity and accessible beer, utilizing a blend of high-quality hops to achieve its characteristic aroma.

The brand has remained fiercely independent through centuries of industry consolidation. It is currently owned and managed by the Haag family, now in its eighth generation of leadership.
